Glam Slam: Spring Dresses & How To Wear Them

We’ve been having some gorgeous weather out here… Saturday was hot and sunny and I actually went swimming on Sunday!

The good weather inspired me to buy a fun, sleeveless dress at J. Crew this weekend that I can’t wait to wear.

“Spring is all about a cute dress,” says Kate Dimmock, People StyleWatch’s Fashion Director. “There are loads of options out there — from florals to butterfly patterns or classic whites — that you can wear to work, or on a weekend.”

The little white dress (LWD) is so versatile this spring and fits perfectly with casual or going-out looks. Look for dresses with details — either with pleats or lace or ruffles — to make your outfit stand out from the crowd.

Another fun dress trend is global prints. (Check out Ashley Greene!) This can be bold with loads of color, or more subtle with earthy patterns and tones.

These dresses are really relaxed in unfussy shapes like shirtdresses or shifts. We love the “Dylan Dress” from Club Monaco that retails for $189.50. A lot of style for that price point.

“One trend that we’re really loving is nature-inspired prints. With flowers or butterflies or birds, these prints help set the tone for spring.

For a work look, put together a polished outfit with an abstract floral sheath that hits right at your knee. Pair it with neutral accessories to balance it out.
