I've been doing a lot of window shopping, getting my game plan ready for how I'll be updating my wardrobe for Fall.

Here are the trends that will be showing up in my closet…and the ones that can stay in the stores!

TRENDS TO TRY:
ANIMAL PRINTS
I have always loved leopard and will wear just about anything in an animal print. Even though I already own quite a few things in various animal prints…I just can't help myself when it comes to updating the look with new pieces. What can I say, I have an obsession that I can't quite get over! An animal print, especially leopard, is a classic! (Sarah Jessica Parker shows how to do it in a small, chic dose)

BRIGHT COLORS
Bright hues are in for fall with jade green and punchy red getting big play. If you don't want to be quite so bold, liven up your outfit with accessories. Go for a bright purse (like Kourtney Kardashian), scarf, shoes or jewelry like colored bangles. Bright jeans are still on trend. J. Brand does color well, but, for more inexpensive options, check out Gap or Zara.

RETRO CHIC
30's Art Deco, 40's ladylike dresses and the 70's are all on trend for fall. I like Deco style jewelry….Ann Taylor makes some pretty, affordable pieces and as for the 70's look, a tie front blouses is easy to incorporate into your existing wardrobe. Marc Jacobs has a cute navy print blouse I love, but more affordable stores like Forever 21 are all over this trend.

HEELED LOAFERS
I love this look…it's smart and polished for work, and the sturdy heel makes it easier on your feet. I like how Hailee Steinfeld's blue loafers (pictured) add a pop of color to her outfit.

MENSWEAR MOMENT
Actually, menswear is a classic that never seems to go out of style. Pants are back in a big way and make sure you feminize your look so it's not too masculine. Soften sharply tailored pieces by adding accessories with feminine details.

TRENDS I'M SKIPPING:
FLARE JEANS
I'm still a sucker for skinnies. I don't find flare jeans flattering on my body type and they're a little too seventies boho for me.

SOUTHWESTERN PRINTS
Ashley Greene and Ashley Tisdale are two stars who have been seeing wearing Navajo prints, which seem to be everywhere. It's just not my thing. At. All. Sitting this one out entirely.

WEDGE HEEL BOOTS
Too clunky and unfeminine for me. I think of Herman Munster every time I see a pair!

CAPES
I actually like the look of a cape, but it's just not very practical and not something that really works in Southern California. Same with chunky cable knit sweaters…they work for most of the country, but here, not so much.

VARSITY JACKETS
Huh? Why?

Healthy Hollywood: Get Movin' Monday – Learn Beyonce's Booty Bounce!

August 29, 2011

All eyes were on Beyonce at the VMAs as she proudly debuted her baby bump on the red carpet. The superstar and her hubby, Jay-Z, are expecting their first child.

It's fair to say this dynamo pair's offspring will have all the right genes to be his or her generation's next big dancing sensation.

Most of us aren't lucky enough to be born with all the right moves – but that doesn't mean we can't learn to dance.

"Anyone can look sexier on the dance floor. Eye contact, confidence, and a few flirty arm movements like playing with your hair - all help release the inner Sasha Fierce in you and add a sexy spark and flare to any dance move," reveals dancer Nicole Guidetti, who spent years as a backup dancer to Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Gwen Stefani.

Nicole shares the tricks to her eye-catching moves in her "Sexy Moves For The Club" DVD series. Besides improving your dance floor skills, this DVD series is also a fat-burning workout. "When I am dancing I use muscles that I never knew I had. Your abs, legs, and arms are always engaged in every move. It's a great way to build and tone your muscles all at the same time and a fun way to slim down," adds Nicole. An hour of dancing can burn anywhere from 400 to 600 calories! So, get the music blasting and start moving (even if it's in the privacy of your own home).

One dancing diva move to learn is Beyonce's booty bounce – Nicole shares how to shake it. "The trick is to actually start out by facing to the side and arching and contracting your back. Then, as you arch and contract your back, step in place by alternating each foot. This helps the booty bounce up and down," advises Nicole. Then, to really get your booty moving, Nicole suggests, "Start to do it double time and bounce up and down at a faster and faster pace. Beyonce looks so good doing it because she can do it so quickly! Most, importantly it's a great workout for your booty!"

Just like good style, Nicole says, "less is more" when it comes to good dancing. The "secret" is that to be a really good dancer, you don't need to know dozens and dozens of moves, learn long and complicated routines or spends years and years of training and practicing and making yourself a "pro." Instead, just learn a few fun and flirty moves and know how to do them well!

Glam Slam: All The VMA Style Action!

Access Hollywood Glam Slam

August 29, 2011

Last year at the MTV VMAs we got the meat dress….this year, we got Lady Gaga's male alter ego Jo Calderone, who wore a simple black Dior jacket, white tee and black Brooks Brothers pants all night.

So it was a bit of a style letdown for me without the outrageous Gaga to shake things up.

Here's how it all breaks down:

LOOKING GREAT
BEYONCE
Congrats!!!!! Will there ever be a more glamorous mommy-to-be than Beyonce? The mega-star showed off her mini bump first in a loose orange silk one-shouldered Lanvin gown and then at the end of performing her song "Love on Top" while decked out in head-to-toe Dolce & Gabbana, she opened her purple sequined jacket and rubbed her belly. Such a cute moment- so happy for her and Jay-Z!

KELLY ROWLAND
Beyonce's fellow Destiny's Child member also looked amazing in a Falguni & Shane Peacock black-and-gold mini adorned with feathers and leather! She also rocked sexy studded Christian Louboutins. Love her look!

ZOE SALDANA
Also went with a short dress looking gorgeous, as usual, in a black embellished mini with plunging neckline. Both the dress, which showed off her long, lean legs, and the shoes are by French designer Barbara Bui from the Fall 2011 Collection.

BRITNEY SPEARS
The Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Honoree kept things simple and looked cute in a black sequined Moschino jumper, which she paired with peep-toe black booties.

PREDICTIBLY WILD
NICKI MINAJ
Where does one begin with this outfit? The crazy cotton candy wig, the face mask, the ice cream cone necklace, the mirrors on her dress, the crazy stuffed animal thingee? "Tokyo inspires this outfit," Nicki told us. "Harajuku is something I have been absorbing for a very long time." She gave Gaga some competition in the over-the-top outfits department and she succeeded in a very cheeky way. She kept things fun and interesting.

KATY PERRY
"I just felt like being colorful and fun and with me, I am okay with self deprecation," Katy Perry told us last night. "That was the inspiration for tonight… to have a laugh." And Katy succeeded with her colorful series of outfits. The "Video of the Year" winner wore four different ensembles throughout the evening, each more colorful than the last! The lavender hair, the Tom Ford purple gown with lace top, the Atelier Versace blue geisha mini with matching parasol, the Dior yellow cube hat…I think she represented every color in the rainbow! She always keeps us guessing and that's why we love her.

MILEY CYRUS
"I didn't know if it was too, like, fancy-dancy for the VMAs but it's all about, you know, being as wild as you want to be," Miley told us. Grrr! In a long-sleeved long gown that was part animal print, part floral print, this Roberto Cavalli was all over the place and seemed too mature for the young star.

THE 'JERSEY SHORE' LADIES
Enough said.
