Healthy Hollywood: Get Movin' Monday – Learn Beyonce's Booty Bounce!

August 29, 2011

All eyes were on Beyonce at the VMAs as she proudly debuted her baby bump on the red carpet. The superstar and her hubby, Jay-Z, are expecting their first child.

It's fair to say this dynamo pair's offspring will have all the right genes to be his or her generation's next big dancing sensation.

Most of us aren't lucky enough to be born with all the right moves – but that doesn't mean we can't learn to dance.

"Anyone can look sexier on the dance floor. Eye contact, confidence, and a few flirty arm movements like playing with your hair - all help release the inner Sasha Fierce in you and add a sexy spark and flare to any dance move," reveals dancer Nicole Guidetti, who spent years as a backup dancer to Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Gwen Stefani.

Nicole shares the tricks to her eye-catching moves in her "Sexy Moves For The Club" DVD series. Besides improving your dance floor skills, this DVD series is also a fat-burning workout. "When I am dancing I use muscles that I never knew I had. Your abs, legs, and arms are always engaged in every move. It's a great way to build and tone your muscles all at the same time and a fun way to slim down," adds Nicole. An hour of dancing can burn anywhere from 400 to 600 calories! So, get the music blasting and start moving (even if it's in the privacy of your own home).

One dancing diva move to learn is Beyonce's booty bounce – Nicole shares how to shake it. "The trick is to actually start out by facing to the side and arching and contracting your back. Then, as you arch and contract your back, step in place by alternating each foot. This helps the booty bounce up and down," advises Nicole. Then, to really get your booty moving, Nicole suggests, "Start to do it double time and bounce up and down at a faster and faster pace. Beyonce looks so good doing it because she can do it so quickly! Most, importantly it's a great workout for your booty!"

Just like good style, Nicole says, "less is more" when it comes to good dancing. The "secret" is that to be a really good dancer, you don't need to know dozens and dozens of moves, learn long and complicated routines or spends years and years of training and practicing and making yourself a "pro." Instead, just learn a few fun and flirty moves and know how to do them well!
