See video outtakes for their next single "got to be you"!

CHART-topping boyband One Direction paid a visit to Anglesey this week, to film a video in Rhosneigr.

The five-piece, who have quickly become one of the UK’s most popular boybands, reportedly stayed at the Trearddur Bay Hotel on Sunday night, before travelling to Rhosneigr early on Monday morning.

When they weren’t riding the waves, they enjoyed the local sights and spent time at the Sandymount Club.

Larry Hughes, who runs the business  with his wife Jane, said: “They were here all day on Monday. They had breakfast with us, they had lunch with us and they came back for some apple crumble, which my wife made especially for them.

“They got up early in the morning and were in and out of the sea all day surfing.”

He explained: “I suspect they were filming a video which would be used as a backdrop in concerts.

“One of the directors has a place in Rhosneigr, and I think he thought that this is an ideal place for surfing,” he explained.

Fans who had heard the news had raced outside to catch a glimpse of the group.

“We had a few outside around 5-6pm,” said Mr Hughes.

“Word gets around quite quickly, and they had been to other parts of the village – they had been over to the surf shop and Fat Face.”

The weather may not have been ideal on Monday, but Mr Hughes believed the band were impressed by the area.

He agreed their visit may have a positive impact on the island.

“We would like to think so,” he said. “I can’t imagine it would have a detrimental effect. Anglesey is a proper celeb hotspot recently. They Should have recruited Will and Kate to be in this.
